About the Design
The first design for Vanwrites.com pays homage to all the things I love. It has still life photography, sepia tones, and clean, simple web design. I had film noir in mind. It reminds me of old, jazzy, eclectic things with class and character.
The stock photo I chose is like a snap shot of my favorite things. It perfectly represents the objects I love to work with.
Vintage Typewriter: I have a vintage typewriter identical to the one pictured. It's one of the very scant heirlooms in my family.
Camera: I always have a camera on me and work with one on the desk in front of me.
Notebook: I love writing on blank pages, taking notes, and making lists. I always have a notebook beside me when I work, and I enjoy how the one pictured is open and awaiting marks from the pen.
Coffee: I love the smell, sight, and taste of Coffee. However, I've weaned myself from the delicious beverage to curb dependency and crashes. It's been replaced with strong tea, but I still enjoy looking at coffee...smelling coffee...
The photo is full of kinetic energy. It's an earthy, vintage, yet modern work station ready for the creativity to flow in.
